Event organizers said they want to “help further circulate the Black dollar within the Black community – “and to have fun while doing this.”
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Local digital publication Urban Girl Magazine will host their second Black Business Crawl from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 30 at several North Jersey businesses (see the list below).
The event is being sponsored by Newark Happening, which is the ‘Greater Newark Convention and Visitors Bureau’. According to a news release from organizers, the “one-of-a-kind experience” will kick off August’s national Black Business Month.
The crawl works like this: the bus will stop at each business, and guests will have an allotted amount of time to go inside and shop. Each guest will receive a free gift bag filled with products from “entrepreneurs of color.” Attendees will receive special deals and incentives to use at each business.
Tickets are on sale online here.
“The purpose of the Black Business Crawl is to stimulate the local economy and to help further circulate the Black dollar within the Black community – and to have fun while doing this,” organizers said.
This summer’s black business crawl will stop at nine Black-owned businesses in New Jersey. Check out the list below:
