- The former Narragansett Bay Insurance Company building at 25 Main Street will soon be transformed into the Cornerstone Complex, a place where “business, theater, and music live.” There are currently six business partners that are part of this venture, which is part of the expanding “Black Block” — a block of businesses run by Black entrepreneurs on Pawtucket’s Main Street. Building owner Leslie Moore said an open house to offer more detailed plans will be held this month. (Valley Breeze)
- To help residents keep their holiday purchases safe, the Pawtucket Police Department offered some tips to prevent package theft this season. First and foremost, don’t leave packages unattended for long periods of time if at all possible. If you know you won’t be home, see if you can ship your package to your workplace or ask a trusted neighbor to bring it inside for you. (Pawtucket Police Department)
- A week after his unexpected death, community leaders have honored, remembered, and mourned former Rhode Island State Representative Ray Johnston, who passed away at age 61 on Nov. 23. (Valley Breeze)
- Governor Dan McKee announced that Rhode Island is developing a new app, 401 Health, to help residents easily show proof of their COVID-19 vaccination. The app should be ready for wider rollout later this month. (U.S. News)
