CEDAR CITY, Utah (KUTV) — Three people, including two firefighters, were transported to the hospital following a fire that threatened businesses.
The fire occurred in the area of 700 North 2325 West in Cedar City Thursday afternoon.
Officials said the fire involved chemicals at one of the businesses, adding that the chemicals caused the fire to spread quickly.
The business with the chemicals was evacuated due to fumes. Some people were checked by medical personnel and released.
The fire was under control as of 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Officials said four structures were threatened at one point, but evacuations have been cancelled.
Officials said two Cedar City firefighters and one civilian were transported to Cedar City hospital for injury treatment. It was not specified what the injuries were or the extent.
A Facebook post made by Cedar City police said, “Mutual aid was provided by Kanarraville Fire Department, Paragonah Fire Department, Parowan Fire Department, Brian Head Fire Department, Forestry Fire and State Lands Fire.”
