RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – 12 On Your Side’s General Manager and Regional Vice President of Gray Television Kym Grinnage was honored recently with a Virginia Black Business Leaders Award.
“It’s been good for the community to see a Black man leading a major TV station,” Grinnage told Virginia Business. “Not only is it aspirational for a lot of people, but people feel their voice can be heard and projected back into the community.”
Grinnage has been at 12 On Your Side for 33 years and was first hired as a junior account executive.
He told Virginia Business that getting hired at WWBT “was one of the best things that ever happened to me.”
“The best time of my day, for the past 33 years, is when I walk through the doors of 12 On Your Side and I get to work with the best team that I know,” he said. “I am the luckiest man on Earth.”
