The mother of Chicago teenager Keneka Jenkins, who died in a hotel freezer, has gone viral for her own disturbing moment.
Recent videos of a grieving woman walking naked through the streets of Chicago during a bitter winter. The footage shows Jenkins’ mother, Theresa Martin, calling for justice for her dead child. Viewers can hear Martin say, “Justice for Keneka” and “Justice for all.”
The unfortunate circumstance comes weeks after Martin’s announcement another update about his ongoing search for answers surrounding Jenkins’ death. The grieving mother said that she has not received any of her deceased daughter’s personal belongings since the day of her death.
“They promised answers about my daughter’s death, but those promises were never kept,” Martin wrote. according to Shine my crown!
Jenkins’ story made national headlines after the 19-year-old was found dead in a freezer at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chicagoland in September 2017. The footage showed the teenager walking the halls of the hotel in what appeared to be an inebriated state. However, security video never confirmed how or when he got into the freezer.
The unusual case became even more controversial after officials ruled the death an accident. However, Martin refuses to believe that her daughter’s death was entirely unintentional, continuing to stand for justice.
The family received a $10 million settlement after initially suing the hotel. Still, Martin said her fight to seek justice for her daughter remains. He also criticized the way law enforcement handled the investigation, claiming they pressured him and other family members into testifying without their full knowledge.
Others also found the investigation controversial, sympathizing with Martin for his lack of resolve. Since her daughter’s widely publicized case, Martin has remained a staunch defender of her late child.
However, many see this latest incident as an indication of the emotional toll of this years-long journey. Neither the mother nor her representative issued a statement regarding the incident.
