The father-son duo has another NBA player to add to their dynasty, Steph’s younger brother Seth.
Steph and Dell Curry set a new NBA record for celebrating together.
Although Del Curry has been retired for decades, he now holds a new NBA record thanks to his son Steph. As a father-son playing duo, the Currys hold the record for the most combined games played.
When the Golden State Warriors guard played his 1,052th regular season game, he tied his father’s record. The Athletic confirmed the news after the Jan. 3 game against the Utah Jazz.
As a duo, the two have now played a combined 2,135 games. They surpassed the record previously held by Dolph Chayes and Danny Chayes, who had a combined 2,134 games.
Steph has played with the Warriors since they drafted him in 2009. Since then, he has secured four NBA titles with the team as well as two MVP titles.
While Steph’s tenure with the Warriors cemented him as a future NBA Hall of Famer, his father also had a notable career in the league. He played in the NBA for nearly two decades. The elder Curry played for several teams, including the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors.
However, Curry’s basketball legacy extends beyond the two, with Steph’s younger brother, Seth, also joining the NBA in 2013. According to the news outlet, the father-son/brother trio holds the record for the most combined 3-pointers in the NBA.
Seth and Steph also debuted together as brothers who became teammates after Seth joined the Warriors for the 2025-2026 season.
However, Steph’s recent record with their father may continue to grow as Steph plays in the Western Conference. Despite previously being injured earlier this season, he is back as the Warriors battle for the No. 8 seed with a 19-17 record. As an NBA dynasty in the making, the Curry family continues to make a name for himself and set records.
