According to The associated pressWells took a running out of purple and drove to the edge when Hornets KJ Simpson’s guard took him out behind. Wells lost his balance and fell badly by his side, with his head hitting -on the floor near the reference line.
Officials called the Simpson success at Flagrant 2 fouland was automatically expelled from the game. The 22 -year -old reviewed Wells before leaving the court, and it was clear that he was upset by the incident.
Wells went down eight minutes before the medical staff raised him on a stretcher and grabbed his head to limit his movement. He was then transported to a hospital for a broken wrist injury and evaluation.

“Jaylen is awake and alert”
The interim coach Tuomas Iisalo shared an update to Wells, saying that he had movement at all his ends. He also commented on the 21-year-old Grizzlies victory 124-100 on Hornets.
“It puts everything in perspective seeing this situation and seeing Jaylen there,” said Iisalo, by Associated Press. “He is an amazingly hard boy and had a great season.”
Wells agent confirmed his injuries. It is probably for the rest of the regular season with three games left for the Grizzlies, according to The commercial resource.

Simpson speaks after Wells injury
Simpson also shared a heart message to Wells on the platform: “My prayers are with @jaylen_wells,” Simpson wrote to X. “I know we already talked and we are good friends, but again I just wanted to express not only J, but also to his family, in addition to the penalty, sorry.

In a follow -up tweet, Simpson praised Wells for his athletic skills and apologized again to him and his family.
“Especially with the talent j is”, Simpson write. “I know it will be special and only the many times our roads have crossed, I am blessed to know that he is an even better person with an incredible story. I just wanted to say that J and his family cannot say -enough.”
