How did Lebron James play a role in the design of his own doll?
James collaborated with Mattel to design the historical figure, which is a higher inches than the typical Ken doll. The doll includes personalized clothes that represents the parenting of James in his hometown Akron, Ohio. The figure is decorated in a Vanity jacket, along with a shirt that says “We are family” to represent the values of the Lebron James Family Foundation.
Some of the other accessories seen in the doll are the Nike shoes, the Beats’ headphones, the sunglasses, a Fanny pack, Gold Watch and the band “and Promise” by James.
“Ken is Barbie’s best friend and supporter,” Krista Berger, a senior vice president of Barbie and world doll head, Mattel, said in the statement. “We are excited to bring to the fans a new Ken presentation that celebrates Lebron as a role model, its icon state, a lasting impact on culture and the dedication to establishing a positive example for the next generation to achieve its unlimited potential.”
