More information about Sister Rosetta Tharpe
Tharpe, who was raised in the star in the 1930’s and 1940’s, is the foundation of rock and roll, a genre that has since been relocated as a “white genre” despite its black roots (like country music). However, many rock and roll stars over the years have credited black artists such as Tharpe as inspirations and, for better or for worse, other artists like Elvis popularized rock and roll in the masses.
However, Tharpe died in 1973 and did not receive its flowers in the main until recent years, such as when the American artist of the British, Yola, portrayed Tharpe in 2022 Elvis.
