In an attempt to shed light on people who lead colleges and universities throughout the country, we got to the courtyard to the University of Toleen and made an interview with Anthony Brestter, president of the Student Government Association 2024-2025.
The position of SGA president is a great respect, and there is a special pride in their election by their peers to lead. Anthony Breester, who specializes in international relations and anthropology, from Bronx, New York, is a pride in the fall of 2024 from Alfa Alpha.

We met Anthony Breester and talked to him about his position, goals, future, and what it means to occupy this type of leadership in 2024-2025.
Read the full interview below.
What is the biggest thing you learned as SGA president so far?
One of the most important things you learned is the appropriate delegation. Tulan has a unique for students ’governance. The positions of the president and vice president were changed to be known as the “co -chair.” The TULANE student government had a history of racism and discrimination, and a goal of these linguistic changes is to start a culture of balanced representation. For this reason, our approach to acting has been adjusted to support the anti -racism system. This prompted me to understand what he really means to have a voice for the students ’body, and communicate with what I was told, and not what I want to hear.
What made you decide to attend the University of Toulin for university students?
During Covid, I had the opportunity to take a tour of Toulin. She was one of the only schools that continued to obtain personal courses during the epidemic, and for this reason, she was one of the few schools that she managed to visit before making my final decision. The two, and still, was a culture of happiness- was one of the most miserable times in my life, but somehow all the students of TULANE remained in my tour smiling. I was thinking, I need to be in a place that would keep me smiling. Besides this, TULANE has one of the highest rates of students participating in community service, which was an important factor for me.
How did the University of Tolin formed you in the person you are today?
I think my experience in Toulin has taken me sincerity to the person I am today, however, I think it is about the university itself and more about the society that I kept around me. I want to believe that I have changed for the best: I learned ways to deal with stress, rejection and sadness, all during his education, and exposed to different backgrounds and walks of life, and enjoy.
What are the specific initiatives that you went to this year (or planning), and how do you think it will improve the school and the surrounding community?
For this year specifically, I was in the planning stage of the continuation/expansion of the student’s alliance in New Orleans. This project will include student governments in surrounding universities such as Kazavier University in Louisiana, Dellard and Liola New Orleans, etc. to build contacts with the participants. I think it will help all students of students participate in the major New Orleans region, which exposes us to new ideas and possible events, as well as being a great opportunity to communicate. Second, we move and my participant’s head to carry out an archive project, so that the history of the Tulane Student Management System is known on a larger scale. We want to ensure that the discriminatory racist past of the TULANE student government is part of the education of our association, that the past will never recover. Finally, I work, head and co -chair to see if we can number our student identifiers and what it might seem. Many students complained about the lack of their knowledge of Apple wallet or other digital platforms, so we listen to their voices and work to start the transition.

How does your SGA management/school currently attend the mental health of students?
Our students’ government focuses on mental health. We do not have arduous tasks lists that can go out of control, and we explain that taking mental health days for itself should be a priority. Our university administration has also implemented a 24/7 program specifically for mental health.
What does driving mean to you?
For me, leadership means invitation and sympathy. Each of these concepts requires active listening and receives notes from those you lead. When you sympathize with sympathy and invitation, it gives you a recipe for the results- which people want to see above all. I also think communication is a big driving factor. No one will understand your leadership if it is not connected, because every action is always invisible. Finally, it is necessary to build the team, as you cannot lead a team if there is no team to lead it. Understanding how your team works and does it is necessary to be a good leader, because your team is necessary for progress.
We are now living in a digital world, what do you think of schools that you should do to represent themselves online in 2025?
In a digital world, it is necessary that the student and universities government have great public relations teams. The association has an amazing communication committee that manages our social media pages and sets incredible weekly content. You need to understand the current trends, and to understand how to defend your community online because sometimes this may be the most effective way to accomplish things. In the end, I would like to say that the most important thing when it comes to being online is consistency. Maintaining stability in content and acting will work wonders.

Why do you think watching the courtyard is important for black students and the culture of the kidney?
Watch the courtyard is very important for black students and the culture of the kidney because it represents a scarcity. It is very rare to see a news center that focuses on black success rather than black shock. We need more pages such as watching the courtyard to continue to raise the level of our society, and watching the annihilation represents this standard very well.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
After graduation, I have a couple options. My biggest opportunity was teaching for America, which was chosen to teach secondary social studies at a public school in Houston. This, for me, is an exciting way to return the beautiful to society through something I love: education. Besides, I plan to continue my trip at Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. And join the classroom separation wherever you are.
We would like to praise Anthony Prstrates for his work as head of SGA University of TULANE University.
