In a shocking turn of events, the Clark Atlanta Panthers will be looking for a new head coach. following the announcement of current head coach Teddy Keaton’s departure after just two seasons.
Clark Atlanta finished the 2025 season with a 3-7 overall record, including a 2-6 conference record.
Keaton was hired by Clark Atlanta in February 2024 after a five-season stint with the recently revamped Allen Yellow Jackets football program.
In his first season as the head coach of the Panthers, he turned the team from an 0-10 record the year before to a 7-3 record. Qualified in the SIAC championship game.
A year before Clark took over for Atlanta, Keaton led Allen to a 7-3 overall record and the team’s first winning season as a Division II program (it was last above .500 in its final season before disbanding football in 2005).
Both seasons were marked by a dynamic offense led by quarterback David Wright, who was named SIAC Offensive Player of the Year each year.
The Panthers head coach also spent five years at Stillman during the team’s final five seasons before retiring from football, posting a 27-26 overall record and leading the team to a share of the SIAC West division title in 2011 in his first year.
That now makes four open head coaching jobs in the SIAC, joining Albany State, Morehouse and Savannah State.
