If they were beaten in tuskegee today today Turkey Day Classic, It would finish the regular season with 10 wins – the program’s most since the 2004 SWAC championship team.
But that achievement doesn’t make it easy to regret not having a postseason opportunity.
To speak rudely On the Hornets’ narrow miss in the Down Division race, Robinson offered a philosophy that many coaches would turn to excuses.
“It’s life, you know what happens,” Robinson said this week. So I assume you accept it. “
ALABAMA STATE’S LONE LONMISH played in the conference A four-point loss at Jackson State in October. That loss left the Hornets haunting JSU for the rest of the season. Despite winning and posting the second best record in the conference, Robinson and his team will be preparing for the offseason.

Robinson, now in his fourth season with a 20-14 overall record at Alabama State, described a personal best that began once the season was immediately tarnished. After this week, he will retreat to a local coffee shop with his notes and begin the real work of rebuilding.
“I go to a coffee shop, take my notes, write everything in my journal, talk about what I can do, how I can improve,” Robinson explained.
The process isn’t about rehashing or pointing out losses, it’s about creating an honest inventory of the horned opportunities, strategic mistakes and roster gaps that led the Hornets to the championship game.
The Hornets have finished second in the SWAC East in three consecutive seasons, a pattern that is close to breaking the glass ceiling for the program.
“Next year, you start trying to win a championship,” Robinson said. “And I think that’s just how it goes. It’s just the era of football.”
Robinson’s admission does not signal resignation; Reflecting a coach who knows that the razor is thin, a coach who knows that he is between conquering the Combine and the SWAC. Alabama State has demonstrated that it belongs in the upper echelon of the conference.
