Fans tuning into the Fox NFL Kickoff on Sunday were greeted by a familiar face — former NFL star Michael Vick returned to the broadcast team.
Vick joined Carissa Thompson, Julian Edelman and Charles Woodson.
Vick has spent the past year away from television taking on a new challenge: coaching college football. Serving as the head coach at Norfolk State, he made the difficult but rewarding transition from the broadcast studio to beyond.

Reflecting on his first season, Vic admitted it was a learning curve, but full of valuable lessons. “It was a great learning experience,” he said. “The record didn’t reflect the vision, but I have to give credit to my players and coaches – they never gave up. They fought until the end.”
Norfolk State went 1-11 and did not win a MEAC conference game this past season.
Known for his dynamic play during his NFL career, the former quarterback hinted that he plans to adopt a more disciplined coaching philosophy in the future. “Maybe I should come in early next year with a Nick Saban mentality,” Vick joked, drawing laughter from his fellow analysts.
As the broadcast continued, the camaraderie between the hosts highlighted what fans love about Fox NFL Kickoff — the mix of insider football expertise and personality off the field. For Vick, the moment represented a homecoming, both to the network and to the energy of the game-day conversations.
“It’s all about being with family,” Thompson told Vick with a smile. “And today the family is reunited.”
