White Woman Charged For Throwing Pumpkin at Black Man in Maine

It seems Karens are getting creative now, elevating their weapons of mass destruction from fake white woman tears to, apparently—pumpkins!

In Maine, the attorney general’s office reportedly filed charges against a white woman for allegedly throwing a pumpkin at a Black man in a racist attack. Documents filed in Androscoggin County Superior Court name 65-year-old Andrea Ouellette as the perpetrator, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are wild.

In November, a 31-year-old Black man was apparently minding his Black business, standing outside his home talking to a neighbor, when Ouellette allegedly ran up on him and threw a pumpkin at his head while yelling a racial slur. She also allegedly added the old, tired, racist diatribe, “Go back to your own country!

We don’t think this was one of those cute little desktop pumpkins either. The attorney general’s office said the incident left the man with multiple injuries including a broken nose, broken teeth and facial swelling. He required surgery as a part of his recovery.

That wasn’t the first lick Ouellette tried to hit that day either, authorities claimed. However, she allegedly wielded something much worse than a pumpkin…

Then in January, Ouellette confronted a 48-year-old Black woman who was parking near Ouellette’s home. Ouellette yelled that the woman couldn’t park there and then allegedly approached her with a knife, screamed racial epithets and said “go back to your country or I will [expletive] kill you!”

The Lewiston Police Department is investigating both cases and charges are pending.

Attorney General Frey said in a statement that he plans to use Maine’s Civil Rights Act to keep racist threats and violence like that of Ouellette from happening again. The act allows action to be taken against a person who uses violence or violent threats against another based on their race or gender.

Based on the law, Ouellette could be facing a Class D crime, which will get her one year in jail and a $2,000 fine if found guilty.
