Jackson State gets past UAPB with explosive game from Evans


Jackson State defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff by a score of 89-84 at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center on Thursday evening. The Tigers went into halftime with a 16-point lead. Despite being outscored 44-33 in the second half, they were able to fend off the Golden Lions and hold on for the win.

Ken Evans scored 37 points to lead the way for Jackson State. Evans was dangerous from three-point land, connecting on 7-of-13 attempts. Evans led what was a complete offensive performance for the Tigers. The team shot 49% from the field while scoring 1.32 points per possession. Even when they missed, the team always seemed to have someone around to clean it up, scoring 25 second chance points on 17 offensive rebounds.
