HISTORICALLY, PREDOMINANTLY AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITIES OR BLACK COMMUNITIES HAVE NOT HAD THE ACCESS TO THOSE THINGS AND SO WE FEEL LIKE THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ACCESS TO BE, YOU KNOW, FELT AND MADE AVAILABLE TO TO THOSE WHO REALLY, REALLY NEED IT MOST WITH $300,000 THROUGH THE NONPROFIT FLOURISH OKC, THEY’RE ASKING ENTREPRENEURS, ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS TO APPLY FOR THE FUNDS AS A WAY TO BRING AN EXTRA LAYER OF SUPPORT TO THE COMMUNITY. THERE MAY BE SOME ORGANIZATIONS THAT ACTUALLY DON’T NEED, UM, A PHYSICAL DOLLARS. THEY MAY JUST NEED A COACH TO WALK ALONGSIDE THEM. SO WE ACTUALLY HAVE A COUPLE OF, UH, A NONPROFIT, UM, INCUBATE THAT THOSE MAY GO THROUGH. AND WE HAVE A SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COACH THAT WILL WALK THROUGH THE BUSINESS PROCESS WITH THOSE INDIVIDUALS AS WELL. The “DUO” or Do Unto Others Fund, is a way to help the northeast community thrive by giving a boost to entrepreneurs.

With $300,000 through the nonprofit Flourish OKC, they ask entrepreneurs, organizations and community leaders to apply for the funds as a way to bring an extra layer of support to the community.
