SBA Arkansas District Office hosts Lunch and Learn series for Black History Month


PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Business Support Incubator (BSI), Arkansas Woman’s Business Center (AWBC) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Arkansas District Office are hosting the first two events of a year-long series, the “Lunch and Learn” on BSI’s Toolbox Tuesdays this February in honor of Black History Month. The event will be held at the UAPB BSI on February 6 and February 20 and will emphasize the importance of entrepreneurship within the Black community.

“Throughout the timeline of our history, Black History Month stands as a colorful canvas, celebrating the resilience, creativity, and triumphs of the Black community,” said Adriene Brown, SBA Arkansas District Office Director. “At this pivotal moment, we recognize the importance of fostering small business ownership and entrepreneurship as catalysts for ownership and empowerment. In the heart of Pine Bluff and across the state, we are committed to providing essential tools and insights needed to amplify the entrepreneurial spirit within the Black community. As we celebrate this observance, let’s unite in our dedication to building economic legacies, fostering growth, and empowering future generations.”

In the first two sessions of the one-year series, BSI, AWBC and SBA ARDO will host a free, one-hour Lunch and Learn each Tuesday in February, at the UAPB Business Support Incubator, located at 615 S. Main Street, Pine Bluff, Ark. The following dates are scheduled for February:

February 6, 12 – 1 p.m.: Starting Your Business: A One-Page Outline

February 20, 12 – 1 p.m.: Access to Capital: How to Fund or Expand Your Small Business
