The Gary Chamber Of Commerce luncheon celebrates Black History Month


The Gary Chamber of Commerce will hold its Monthly General Membership Meeting luncheon at Noon on Monday, February 12, 2024, at The Chateau Banquets, 530 W. 61st Avenue, Merrillville, IN. The Chamber will welcome Gary native Vernon A. Williams as the guest speaker for February.

Williams is the Communication and Community Engagement Strategist for IUPUI, as well as a celebrated writer, author, and educator. Also, he currently writes a weekly column for The Gary Crusader Newspaper. A trailblazer within his own right, Williams was one of the first reporters for the Gary Post-Tribune. Williams previously served as the first Black Assistant to the Chancellor for Communications at IUPUI and is the former Vice President of Communications for Indiana Black Expo, Inc.

The cost of the luncheon is $25 per person with networking opportunities beforehand at 11:30 a.m. Guests are encouraged to reserve a seat as soon as possible by calling the Chamber office at (219) 885-7407. Payment is required in advance and can be made with American Express, Master Card, Visa Credit and Debit cards. Luncheon sponsorship opportunities are also available.
