An unidentified woman managed to infiltrate a Waffle House in Clayton County, donning the disguise of an employee before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The incident unfolded on Dec. 12, 7 p.m., at the Waffle House located on Highway 85 in Riverdale, prompting a search by Riverdale police.
The imposter’s audacious maneuver involved assuming a role within the Waffle House establishment. After two hours on the pseudo-payroll, surveillance footage revealed the woman accessing the cash register, executing a calculated theft right under the unsuspecting noses of patrons and genuine staff.
Detective Mendoza of the Riverdale Police Department issued a statement urging the community’s assistance in identifying and locating the alleged perpetrator.
“We are actively seeking any information that could lead us to the whereabouts of the suspect. The swift resolution of this case is crucial to maintaining the integrity of our community and ensuring the safety of our local businesses.”
While the exact sum stolen from the register remains undisclosed, authorities are treating the incident with the utmost seriousness, emphasizing the need for the public’s cooperation.
