On this episode of the BIT Tech Talk podcast Greg speaks with Cyber Security expert, Malik Girondin. They discuss Malik’s transition from a Customer Service rep in the retail space to his ascent in tech from working in a NOC (Network Operations Center) to a Cyber Security expert and teacher.

Malik possesses a bachelors degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Information Technology Management from Western Governors University as well as many additional certifications.

About our guest:

Malik Girondin has diverse work experience starting from 2017 in the Customer Service sector as a Customer Service Associate. Malik then shifted to the Healthcare sector, where he worked as a Customer Service Specialist at HealthTrust Workforce Solutions.

Malik pivoted his career into Technology and specifically the Cybersecurity sector. he worked as a Network Operations Center Technician at Global Linking Solutions where he performed proactive monitoring, configuration management, and fault resolution of assigned client networks.

In the same year, he worked as a Security Analyst at RingCentral moving on to BlackHawk Data as a SOC Analyst,

In 2023, Malik started working in Security Blue Team as a Junior Defensive Content Engineer and in Correlation One as a Teaching Assistant in Cybersecurity. Malik taught cybersecurity and provided office hour sessions for Fellows, worked with fellow TAs, and lead instructors on ways to improve the learner experience.

Malik Girondin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Information Technology Management from Western Governors University and many certifications under his belt.
